The title of this book gives you an indication that this is not the typical Dummies book. This book is setup like a workbook in grade school. It contains detailed step-by-step instructions on how to accomplish specific tasks in Microsoft Excel using practical exercises. In addition to the instructions, the accompanying CD contains completed worksheets for the exercises, allowing you to check your results. The exercises are organized into the following 24 chapters.

Although the author assumes that the reader is a new user of Excel 2010, you can tell from the list of chapters that some of the topics are beyond what is normally covered in a beginning book. Also, this book has almost no screen shots. It assumes that you are reading the book while at your computer with Excel open. If you need pictures to learn, you should check out the Visual series.
