The book is organized in 10 chapters.

  1. Navigating Windows 7
  2. Managing User Accounts
  3. Working With Files and Folders
  4. Personalizing Windows 7
  5. Fixing Problems from A to Ctrl-Z
  6. Protecting Your Data
  7. Creating a Home Network
  8. Using Windows 7 Programs
  9. Safeguarding Your Computer
  10. Moving Files and Settings to Your Windows 7 Computer

This book is written for someone that either has never used any version of Windows or a person has used previous versions but who has to be reminded and shown how to accomplish a task. Experienced users may be bored with this book.

None the less, the chapter on Creating a Home Network is very well written for someone who has never setup a network before. Also, the Safeguarding Your Computer chapter should be read by users of every level. Even experienced users become complacent with security over a period of time.

The following paragraph from the Introduction pretty well sums up the book.

“You won't find lots of buzzwords or technical jargon in this book. What you will find is lots of practical information about Windows 7's interface and its most important features, along with step-by-step instructions on how to get the most of the operating system by making it do the things you want it to.”
